Getting PLugs (Correct Formula?)

Im in need of new plugs for my seyup im doing this week. Now I got this from HALS old site

.0433 stock gap
-subtract ~.004" for every 50 hp over stock

So If my stock is 175 and my desired is 450 thats a 275 hp over change.
275/50= 5.5
5.5 * .004 = .022
.0433 - .022 = .0213
Now is .0213 my final gap?...im a little confused to this whole plug thing.

Nah that's way overkill. Start them at like .035 or thereabouts and if you are getting spark blowout then start dropping the gap. If you are not getting any blowout you can try increasing the gap if you feel like it.

Your not gonna be putting down 450 right out of the box anyhow right? Mine are at .036 IIRC.

The correct formula is gap them as large as you can up to stock gap without causing spark blowout.

so at 400hp you would use .036 and does it matter if you use nitrous or not??

That was just a general idea. They best way is to gap it as you need to.

How's that costly? Just start at .036 or .032, and drop it .004" if you get blowout there, no one on this board should have to go lower than .028". I'm at .032" and I run more boost than everyone but about 2 people on here.

No the car will hesitate rather than accelerate smoothly, sortof like if you had a bad coilpack. It's not really bad for the car just annoying and hurts your power and how fast your car is.
