ewuzh is now supercharged (pic)

Picked up my car last wednesday. Had to fix a few things but now it's running near perfect. It turns out a 3.5" to 3.0" reducer isn't needed for the intake/air filter, only needs a straight 3.5" coupler. Also, I was stalling out after holding the clutch down between shifts and letting it drop to neutral. I adjusted the IACV to idle the car at 750rpm instead of the 600 it was at before. I thought it might have been a BOV problem, but adjusting it made no difference.

In between shifts, I'm still getting a "phhhum" type sound followed by the blow off sound, even after setting the BOV to the softest setting. I'm guessing thats the sound of the boosted air coming back out the air filter. I dug up an old post about the blitz bov possibly having too stiff of a spring inside? However, on my blitz model there isn't any way to "open it up" to take the spring out...

note to self: get a breather for crankcase.

Anyway here's a pic (yay!!!):

Oh yeah, I replaced the sparks with NGK BKR6E-11 gapped to .040, seems to be pulling stronger than before (replaced some dying NGK plats).

EDIT: Just drove it some more tonight. Wow, I really think I gained +30hp since the old plugs were fairly worn out. I thought it was a bit slow for being supercharged. Now this is what it's supposed to feel like!!

It's a V1 w/ 3.48" pulley, blitz ss, stock vortech fuel management. It's Dave's old kit (oldschooler who doesn't post anymore). No way I can add any more power unless I get a new clutch first!

Thanks Tommy Did you buy a v2 kit already?

3.60" is the stock Stillen pulley. I also have a 3.25 pulley but I decided to go with the 3.48 (safer if using the stock fuel components, IMO).

Thanks James, I did get your PM a while back. I think I'm going to go with a full disc instead of the Exedy Stage 2 3-puck design. My friend is using a Clutchnet stage 2 organic disc in his turbo classic SE-R and it's holding 240whp really well, not to mention it drives very smoothly (his daily driver). I might go with the same clutch as him or go with the fiber-carbon disc (supposedly a bit stronger?). I'm at around the same whp as him, so it should be alright...

Chicken! Bawk-Bawk!!! J/K (Probably just jinxed myself) LOL

Steve, with your aftercooler, don't you feel you can safely drop pulley sizes beyond 3.33? And compensate for any losses you incurred?

Yes, hence the 2.87 going on when I get the V1 plate. I just wanted to make sure that I was running a solid setup first. I only put the 410cc injectors in about two months ago. That was the big thing that I was waiting for.

James, with that being said, how is the progress on yours and Josh's aftercooler? If you don't want ot ***** up this thread, we can talk over pm.

Ewuzh-you will love being boosted.

It hasn't stalled for the past week after I did it. I also noticed that turning on the A/C helps keep the idle higher and "stronger."
