Still running :D :D :D
Contrary to popular belief (myself included), the max is still running!
Why am I surprised? well some of you might remember a while back when I sc'd the max without getting any sort of modifications done to the factory ECU. I said I planned on running juice with that setup. Well...
This setup is jetted to give about a 75 shot.
I have emptied my first bottle and I'm thinking I need a bigger shot I do not hear a hint of knock and that damn motor still pulls like hell.
Recap on my setup...
I have:
V2 SC with 3.1 pully
Blitz BOV
z32 MAF (mounted on charged side)
370cc injectors
Walbro 255lph HP fuel pump
AEM Adj FPR
N.O.S. Pro Fogger system
Running Sunoco 104 R/M Unleaded fuel
I'm not using or don't have:
Water/Alch Injection
SAFC2
FMU
Aftermarket ECU
I'm not saying that this is a dependable setup. I'm only saying that it can be done and it can run pretty strong too. This motor was burning a quart in 500 miles before I ever sc'd it (but oil consumption has not changed since then though).
The AFR is about mid 11's while spraying. Pretty rich but that is where I like it.
Track day is the 8th of October. If the weather holds out and I am able to run, I will post my times to give you an idea of the pull this motor is generating.
Again, as always, thanks to the guys that helped make this possible.

That direct port looks nice. How much work was involved with that?

Since i took my time with the install, I think I prolly spent about 30 hours or so on the actual install. Things like making the solenoid brackets, running the SUPER SHORT 6an line from trunk to the engine bay, bending those mother f'ing hardlines, installing the button in the steering wheel and cleaning up my old installations.
Also, since this was a 4cyl kit (hence the super short line) I had to track down a ton of odds and ends which also took a while since I was a newb to this particular setup.
It was a lot of work but the end result has made it worthwhile.

It's not a big deal since I have only been putting on about 100-200 miles a month on the car this summer... and it's getting cold over here again so it will soon be relegated to the garage for a few months.

I put a 50 shot kit on a Supra one time that was already converted over to single 66mm turbo front mount ect ect. 50hp sure felt like alot more when the boost came on. let us know how it go's with reliabilty and power.

What fuel pressure are you running at 0 vacuum? Turning up the fuel pressure can easily make those 370's flow more like 400-420 cc's.
I agree with Stephen, it is the 104 octane that is saving you from detonation. Although I bet your still getting a little bit but enough that your knock sensor can handle it.
You ever see you AFR's under WOT w/o spray?
Job well done. I bet that thing pulls really nice with the spray!

yup...The 104 is a must. I can run about 98 without the juice on a cool day but even then it will detonate after a good heat soak (like while sitting in traffic and then nailing it once the road opens up).
The AFR is in the high 10's to low 11's without spray under WOT. Kinda sucks but it works.

Thank god for 104 or you'd probably be having some knock probs. Nice setup on the nitrous too

no doubt. $5 a gallon but very worth it.
thank you
1/4 mile races are tomorrow... I can't wait to try it all out... almost done with the wireless "naaaawz" button install too.

yup. it's out of commission. I have not been able to tell what failed. I know I messed it up good. From what I can tell, each bank has one dead cylinder. So I think I can blame it on two things, lack of safe guards on the nitrous sytem and irresponsible spraying.
