A little vid
Me (camera car), modded 05 stang, APS TT 350z
http://homepage.mac.com/bvogelsinger/
That was the night my clutch gave out, the day before I was supposed to go to the track. You can hear it slipping in every gear. Have the tranny pulled and my input shaft bearing and seal were so bad my clutch housing was completely caked in gear oil. All over my clutch, PP, and flywheel.
Of course the Z pulled me pretty good, he is putting down 440whp. I took the stang by 2-3 cars. Stang has intake, X-pipe, chip, and cat back.

Nice run!!
Man I need to start making vids.
I saw this on My350z.com, and was like man that 350z is fast, but you held your ground pretty good with a slipping clutch. Keep up the good work, you're making all us Infiniti guys so happy.

That's right. And yeah it's BriGuyMax, old maxima guy. Mustang is Max2000jp from this board. I was the camera man.
Mike saw up to 10.5psi that night if I recall, but we don't know when in the night it was. We did alot of racing that night, and that's just what his peak boost on his boost gauge said when we got back to his place.

That must be the JWT ECU he was running. Stock ECU he should have pulled away very easily from that mustang unless he was modded.
Thats a nice Video!!!! Mad props to you folks nice clean Vid!!!

Thanks for the props on the vid. I HATE watching crappy, jiggly, unfocused, racing videos so when I am videotaping I pay attention to NOTHING other than wedging my elbows against my body to keep the camera steady, keeping the cars in question in the frame, keeping the zoom appropriate, and keeping the wind noise down (I hate wind noise in racing videos too).
People will ask me what happened in a race that I just videotaped and I usually don't know because I wasn't concentrating on what was actually occuring in the race, but rather on making the video as high quality as I can.
turbo lag sucks. imean the stang jumped out like crazy for a split second. the power of the z is crazy. so is driving like that in traffic! how fast were you going? i feel bad for the bug on mikes windshield.
That was my 05 GT in the video. Mike pulled me about 2-3 cars from the top of 2nd well into 4th gear in my car(60-130). His car is a true sleeper. I want a rematch next spring when Mike fixes his clutch/transmission issues and gets some brakes
I will have a little more power next time to make it more interesting.

This was with my stock ECU....but with 100 octane gas. That is why detonation was not an issue. It was also in the 50's that night.
As for why I did not pull the stang harder? The mustang is no slouch, probably close to 300whp. And for those who watched the video, turn the sound up. You can hear my clutch slip and my motor rev in each gear.
I know the "clutch slip" can be a ricer excuse, so here are some pics to give you guys an idea of what was trying to holdmy power that night. I pulled the tranny a few days after this race.
My input shaft bearing and seal went bad, very bad. This is the inside of my clutch housing...which is supposed to be dry for those who don't know that. Yes, that is gear oil puddled up.

This is my fidanza flywheel burt to ****. It was worn down to some of the bolts and there is a nice deep grove around the outside of it.

Here is the flywheel side of the clutch. All glazed over and some chunks missing. Oil soaked as well.

This is the pressure plate side of the clutch disk. The material is in good shape, just oil soaked

And yes, Neal did a nice job with the video.

Mike? are you keeping your fidanza flywheel? I've talk to fidanza before when I changed out my clutch and theres a aluminum insert(where the screws are) that you can buy from them for like $90 and basically replace the current insert you have, making it a brand new flywheel essentially. I've tried to get the flywheel resurfaced and many tranny shops won't do it because of the srews. I was able to fine a machine shop to do mine for like $50. Next time I'll replace that insert.

I am going with the ClutchNet 6 puck E-Z lock sprung hub, the one that most guys on here use. Tranny should be back in by then end of October.
You guys need to download divx player from www.divx.com to see the vids. After you download that you should be able to watch it in either windows media player or the divx player.
