oil on the filter side of the charger?! bad?!

I just took my filter off the other day to clean it and i noticed oil on the flange where the air filter is attached. I would think this is a bad thing. Can it be fixed easily? does my charger need to be rebuilt?

please help me. Thanks!

I had it too. The oil came from the K&N drum filter which means you over-oiled it. Just wipe up the excess oil around the flange and you'll be ok.

If its motor oil and its on the inside of the inlet case then most likely youll need a rebuild. Check the bottom of the case and see if oil is dripping and also check your belt tention as well.

If both those are negative you can also check that the drain back hose isnt "kinked", allowing the oil to drain out of the case slow, and result in a leak at the inlet seal

I had the case that BlackCat mentioned. I too saw oil, in my inlet but after wiping it with a white cloth, I noticed how red it was so I am pretty sure it was just K+N oil.
