Just the other day I noticed an erratic ticking noise coming from the passenger side of the engine near the S/C. I opened the hood to try and hear where the noise was comin from but I am not sure about its origin. Any idea what it may be? Could it be the charger needin a rebuild? Maybe my timing chain?

If it is the charger, and it does need to be rebuilt, how much does that usually run? Would I be better off lookin for a T-trim?

Anythin is appreciated thanks guys.

Could be your timing chain possibly. The bearing noise from your blower will more of a whine from the blower, raspy sound. If the blower isnt leaking around the case, around where the two sections of the blower meet, then your probably fine. How many miles on the blower ??

You can only upgrade to a T-trim if you have a V1 blower for about $900-$1100. The V2 cant be upgraded to a T-trim unless you do a trade in and thats alot more I believe.

Yea i have the V1. I havent noticed any leaks anywhere..whew. haha. I know there is more than 15k miles on the blower, just not sure of how much more. The motor has 82k.

crapola... Ill try to take a sound clip/video of it and host it somewhere.

what should the chain itself cost approximately? How difficult, in ur experience, is it to replace the timing chain?

Shouldnt be any problems at 15K on the blower or 82K on the motor, but that doesnt mean there isnt a problem.

Its a hard job with the motor inside the car. With it out of the car its fairly easy, just very time consuming. Every single bolt on the side of the motor needs to come off, install the chain, new guide rails, and then clean off all surfaces, and reinstall with a permatex gasket.

Are you sure its not your injectors "Ticking" ??

deffinetely not my injectors because this noise only started recently.

Any possible way it could be a result of worn belts? i need to change my belts.

Are there any other signs of wear that would tell me whether or not the timing chain is wearin out?

Take the air filter off and just double check your fins?

check to see if the pulley on the blower is loose! Some how in 14k my pulley came loose/the key (little metal piece that slides in groove) got loose and stripped the shaft on the blower. $700 for complete rebuild including new gears since the shaft is made with the gears...
