Starting problem

Hello guys!

Well I just got my SC installed a few days ago and here I am with my first problem. When everything was installed SC, 370cc injectors, MEVI, AEM fuel pressure regulator my car was starting just fine. I had the stock fuel pump and i could see right before i would start the car i would get signal on my fuel gauge the way its supposed to. But now that my Walbro fuel pump got installed im not getting a signal of fuel, my car hesitates when i try to start her the very first time and when i return the key and try to start her up again she hesitates a little and feels like if it was a bad fuel pump?? Another thing that i could let you guys know is that when the car starts everything is fine...my fuel pressure gauge reads, and everything else is fine so i have no clue on what this could be....

Anything you guys could help me with would be great!

Thank you
-Albert

1st thing would be to go back and check your install, but it is a fairly straight forward thing and if you didn't have it right the car probably would not start at all.

Did you adjust base fuel pressure at all after the Walbro install? A walbro will cause base fuel pressure to be bumped up a little because it over powers the stock FPR. Do you still have the stock MAF? It could possibly be too much fuel pressure at start up. Try turning down the base fuel pressure if you have not already

Maybe the 10 people who looked at your thread had no insight to give? How many of those 10 views were you? Just relax, this is not a chat room....if someone has advice they will post it.

What does your fuel pressure read? 370cc + a walbro pump could be dumping in too much fuel. You used a GSS342 pump, right? The pump is fragile, so hopefully the little nub on the hose connector tip didn't break off.

You may have crossed the return line with the feed line at the pump. That happened to me last time I put my friends Walbro in and I can hear the pump at startup but the car would not start. You can see the difference between the lines cuz one of the line has a different insulator than the other (one with hole and the other has lines). Check that first aand look and see how its hooked up, its a simple mistake and can cuz your car not to start or run.

but he stated that the car starts and runs normally on the second try. if they were reversed wouldnt that cause the car to not run at all?

I dunno, it may or may not considering that there is still fuel in the line and that the lines are getting pressurized one way or another. My buddy's car ran fine for a day and the next day it wouldn't start so we rechecked the line and it turn out to be crossed so I'm not certain if it will not run or not. He'll just have to check everything over again.
