Quaife diff going bad?

Hey
Lately ive been having some weird noises coming out of my Trans. Hard to explain but the best i can say is it sounds like an airplane once you go over 20-30mph. ALso sometimes when i engage 1st gear slowly i hear a quick howl or a hum. A few times coming out of a driveway at an angle i hear this grinding scraping breaking noise and my inner wheel spins. I dont remember that much inner wheel spin before when i first put in the Quaife. Im wondering if anyone ever expeerinced a bad Quaife and if they did what symtoms did it show? thank you much appreciated

I would highly doubt it's the Quaife, more likely the shimming during install or a bearing, but it is warrantied for life so send it to Cattman.

You can not shim those bearings to perfection. After speaking with the Quaife installer for cattman he advised to leave a one thousandths of an inch of play in the bearings. So basically get the next smaller set of shims so it can have a bit more play. Reason for that is because the quaife when it heats it expands making the bearings to tighten up and go bad. Theres no way on earth a quiafe will go bad. That would have to be the way that quaife diff was shimmed. Alex basically said it.
