Well here is a head scratcher!
Well here is a head scratcher!
We have finished the swap, but the idle is almost non existent and my boost guage shows only 3hg of vaccum. We used a smoke machine to find and fix any leaks. After doing this we are now seeing 3 hg of vaccum at 700rpm where as you should see about 15-20hg of vaccum. Without any throttle given the car will idle at 700rpm steady for a few seconds then die out. Now if i rev it to 1000 rpm and hold it the cars runs smooth and the vaccum improves to around 10hg.
Now this is where it gets interesting. As i give it throttle the vaccum automatically increases. At around 1300 rpm i am getting 17hg of vaccum(WTF). We are now thinking that the cam timming may be off. Also when revvig it to around 4k-5k rpm it feels like it isn't getting full power(revs slower than normal). Does anyone have any suggestions as to what may be going on here? Could it be a simple adjustment to the throttle body needed?
I am getting no codes and my AFR is at 14.7 at 1000rpm. Also the maf voltage reading on the obd2 scanner showed 1.7 which is within spec

truer words have never been spoken. I had an idle issue with a vaccum issue. 2 of my maf wires were shorted together and the 3rd MAF wire was broken.
Check you MAF wiring and check your maf
Got a SAFC or obdII tool? check the % flow or Voltage on your maf when your car starts and when you rev it

He checked the MAF signal. It looked within spec, although he is scaling it back with EMB for the injectors. The shop also did a smoke test to find vacuum leaks and couldn't find any.
Consitant low compression only on one bank would have nothing to do with MAF, injectors, etc. If it were lower and only two of the cylinders on one bank I would suspect head gasket.
If this is in response to my comments, it was directed at frosty and not your business. I realize that frosty's funding is of course partly to blame for the timeframe his car is taking, but it was not my intent on commenting on your business actions on a public forum without instigation. That is between you and frosty and I am not involved. I also don't mean to tangent this thread to egypt and back. The ECU situation is the only thing that I am involved with you and I expect that to be resolved by June 1st. Anything else can be discussed via PM, AIM, or phone.

Anyways back on topic, the compression test showed the front bank averaged 135-145 while the back read 185-190. I guess that would explain the crappy idle. Should have the timming chain fixed by this afternoon and then we are going to slap everything back on and hope for the best
SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
car running yet?
BTW Spig, Maxus is looking good right now
I just changed the steering rack and now need a new wheel, if I can find a wheel, I will drive my car if not, I will ride with my buddy.
