? about 'sensor' mounted in intake piping...
The plug on the left side of the picture, with the rusted bung. What is that for? I ask because I would like to upgrade to 3" piping soon. Thanks!

it looks like the intake air temp sensor.

If that's the IAT sensor as I'm assuming it is, it does not have any function other than diagnostic purposes according to the FSM. You can mount it anywhere and not have any issue. Mine is just bundled up in a bunch of wire loom.

so it doesnt have to be tapped into the Intake piping? I can mount it remotely and have no problem?

I thought the upper bend into the TB was already 3" piping. No need to replace that section...nor worry about the placement of the sensor.
