look what i got today.

Well my turbo came in today. I hope it work well with my dek. I got everything to go boost like Emanage EU, intercooler , intercooler piping, zt-2 wideband, Boost gauge, hks bov (the real one),fuel pump,Z32 maf, areo motive fpr, and greedy boost controller. I still need injectors looking for 555 and turbo feed piping IF anyone has them two items PM me.

Im wonderin how this will spool up and what rpm Ill have full boost of 15psi. I woder if it will come on quick or build over a 5 or 700 rpms. Im wondrering what type of horsepower level could be given at 15-16 psi. Any ideal will be a great help! Its a hx35w

Is it used? Looks like it's been dropped or something.

Either way, good luck with it.

Some of the z31 300zx guys have started using those on their VG30s. It's a little on the big side, but they have really good power potential and spool up time isn't too bad. They typically get about 18psi by 3600-3800 RPM, different motor, but should give you an idea. Nice find and good luck.

Oh yeah, watch the wastegate on those things, internal wastegate is set for about 16-18psi or more even, i forget exactly but it's high. The turbos were off the Cummins diesel, so be aware of that. Don't want to be surprised first time out when it spikes that high. You'll need to shim the wastegate a lot or use an external wastegate.

what kind of power are they making at 18psi. the dek has 10:1 ratio(vg30 9:1) and double over head cam so it may make boost a little quicker but I wounder how much quicker?

shim the only way i know to shim it is to make more boost. Can you explain?

Sorry, I misspoke, it's the wastegate actuator that needs to be modified. See here for details, this is for the z31, but the wastegate actuator mod is the same idea. http://www.redz31.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=249

Nobody has any solid numbers on what sort of power they're making, no dyno's, but guesstimates are in the 350-400+RWHP range, depending on setup obviously.

In internal gate at that flow level is a bad idea. Seems like a recipe for creep.

Remember the 222 is at the crank. If you wanted 222 at the wheels as a starting point, you should have dropped in a 3.5. Additionally, 2 VQ30DET members lost 3rd gear in the last two months with just about 10 psi of boost. But I belive they are running GT35R turbos. You may want to build the tranny if thats your goal. Just my opinion. Good luck.

Yeah i was refuring to the z31 guys making that type of power with a base start of 160hp. Yah i guess im going to get an external waste gate . any one know where to get a good one from. what size?

If your going to run 15psi of boost I'd recommend a 38mm tial.

Just an opinion~
