Boost Gauge question 5th gen step in

Ok so the turbo kit is in and runs fine, no problem there..... My boost gauge however is not working properly ( its mechanical) The Question I have is,....

TO WHAT VACCUUM LINE DO I TAP INTO ON A 5TH GEN ? IF SO CAN YOU POST A PIC.

NEXT QUESTION:
I have an autometer a/f gauge (electronic) three wires RED, BLACK AND PURPLE. ON A CALI SPEC 5TH GEN,........where do I attach the purple (signal) wire? the autometer instructions are too general to determine where to attach it (purple)?

My plan is to tap into the harness at the 1st O2 plug. ( this would be the one that was connected to the first precat, ( the piece right after the front header) Is that were i need to tap it?

You attach the A/F wires to a dumpster, because that's where it belongs. Narrowband A/F is worthless. Enjoy the lightshow.

I can't tell you what to tap since you have a 5th gen. If you had a 4th gen, I could help. You could help yourself though if you had a FSM/Haynes/Chilton. It's all spelled out what color wire is the signal wire.

I'm not sure if this applies to you... but it always amazes me that people modify thier cars, yet that don't own a single repair manual.

Also, you want to get your A/F reading from the exhaust after the two manifolds come together, not by picking a header and jumping on board....wrong approach.

Edit: I see you can search. This is where I started when I wired up my O2 simulator on my 99
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread....ight=simulator

Then, my own thread, which describes the signal wire in great detail (not sure if my wires are the same as your 2000 max)
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=510074

All it took was some detective work reading the FSM.

I dont have narrow band FYI for ya Nancy j/p

I do have the manual and have had it for a few years now, But since my divorce I cant find it anywhere.

I have the two manifolds removed, they are no longer part of the exhaust system

That thing regarding the search, o2 simulator was not what I was going for, I am sure some of the wires MAY coordinate between 99 and 00, But I am not taking that risk on GUESSING. unless its confirmed, just the facts....

I thank you for your efforts on providing the threads, I do appreciate that, I do Have the Fsm and have been taking that bit by bit as you so call it detective work. I am however trying to shorten that detective time by asking a question and getting answers from the experienced ones, fair enough?.

What the 02 simulator's share in common with your A/F gauge is the signal wire. I know for a fact that what is stated in my thread is 1000% accurate, and the signal wire is noted correctly. From the 1st thread I linked, it appears he has identified the signal wire too, so haven't I answered your question? I don't see any guessing going on here.

White wire is the signal wire. The red is power for the heater, other red is refference voltage for the sensor and black.... ground.

There should be an extra vacuum port on the pass side of the intake manifold with a CAP over it- its going to be on the opposite side of the throttle body. This cap/nipple is not used for anything. Plumb the vacuum hose for you boost gauge there.
