Turbo trouble
Turbo trouble
Well I went to test my car today, and it felt great until I hit 80. It felt like I hit some sort of fuel cut. So I pulled out the laptop, looked at my wideband and its telling me that every thing is ok(no spikes in afr). So then I switch to the emanage screen and look at mafs input and output voltage and its the same going in and going out(3.2v). When this happens, my boost falls flat on its face. The turbo is a new unit from full race. I had a evap code earlier but it has not reappeared. This only occurs while Im at full throttle. Im lost anyone have any insight?? Thanks

Where is your wideband mounted at in the exhaust stream? Also, is the turbine wheel stiff to spin by hand? Check compressor housing sidewalls for scoring marks and also the edges of the blades on the wheel. Any wierd sounds?
when you say your maf in and maf out voltage is the same do you mean that it was the same in your datalogs, or it is the same when you do realtime monitoring? Emanage Blue or Ultimate?
What sort of tuning scheme are you running? Are you tuning on pressurevs rpm alone? airflow vs rpm alone? combination of both?

can you post a screenshot of your tuning map - maybe a bad cell or group of cells on the map.
also when you said it does it at 80mph that is confusing. Does it only do it in 3rd gear when you are WOT a 80mph? or does it do it in 4th and 5th gear WOT at 80mph, or at another speed (indicating that it is possibly RPM related as I suspect it is). take some datalogs on emanage if you feel safe going WOT with the car some more.
