Stock Clutch with Supercharger

Hello. I am wanting to get a supercharger with a 3.25inch pulley. I have a stock clutch, which was just put in 1500 miles ago. I was wondering how long it would last with the supercharger on the car? I don't want to compromise the life of the clutch because we just paid a lot to get it installed, my dad didn't want me to put it in. I searched and didn't find anything really helpful. A little help would be appreciated.

It will last you if you drive like a grandma. If you push it, you could blow it in a few runs

Ehh i dont think you would kill it in a few runs. It would not just hold the power at times like a heavyer clutch would. I have the 3.125 pulley and drove my car with the blower for like 15,000-20,000 miles and the stocker held preatty well for me. Its the original clutch that came with the car from nissan. My car had 172,000 when i replaced it. I didnt replace it cuz it died on me but because I had new goodies that needed to be installed. Hopefully this will tell you something.
If you drive your car like a Stup!d idiot you will not just kill the clutch but the whole car.

interesting about the stock clutch. i just pass 62k miles on my max and ordered a 3.60 pulley on sunday, hopefully finishing the install over the next month.
makes me feel alot more secure about not replacing the clutch until i raise the boost.

That is about what I was thinking. I will wait for this mod later in life. I would like my clutch to last longer than 20,000 miles. Guess I'll do other non-performance mods like tint, lights, and other stuff. Thanks for the information.

You are probably right. I had my stock clutch for over 100k miles and it was still strong. I just hope he didn't get the key value clutch.

The nissan OEM clutch is very good even with boost if you know how to use it. Good luck and hope it'll last you as long as mine did

I had 115K miles on my stock clutch and as soon as I put the supercharger on, it would slip midway to the top of first gear under WOT. Surprisingly, it held other gears okay though.

Same thing happened to me... even the same mileage, except that all my gears went bad. Within 3 weeks, and racing Ptatohed a few times from a light, the clutch was toast.

5-speed will hold up pretty good, but its going to depend on the condition of the tranny before going to boost.
My tranny just crapped out on me yesteday, although I saw it coming. The tranny itself has close to 300k on it and the syncros were getting really bad on 1st & 2nd. Even before I went boosted. Im suprised it lasted this long. Ive been boosted for a bit over a year now.The clutch began slightly slipping shortly after going with the 2.87 pulley.
