What piping to use on 00VI swap?

Hey guys. I am getting ready to do an 00VI swap on my supercharged 98. I am wondering if I will need to get the 5th gen piping now? Or can I make the fourth gen piping work with different couplings? I would like to make my fourth gen piping work because I have had it sprayed with chromex and have a HKS flange welded to it. If possible it would be much cheaper for me to keep the fourth gen piping. Please let me know if you have experience with this. Thanks.

4th gen stuff will work just fine. You can definately make the fourth gen piping work with different couplings/new pipe. All that will change is from the MAF to the TB.

Just a FYI, the whole point of the 5th gen charge pipes being different is primarily due to the 5th gen MAF. Since you have a 4th gen MAF, you can work with what you have.

cool, that's good to know. Do you know what couplings I need? Do I just need a longer one for the short peice to the TB? Do I need to get one with a slight curve?

You'll just have to fab it the best way you see fit. There's no right or wrong way, just keep the curve smooth. I've seen a couple different ways of doing it.

Here's one way. Pic courtesy of TJ Max.
