Question. You all know I have a t-28 turbo on my Max. I am interested in upgrading the size of the turbo.,.......Now can I just swap out my housings for larger ones? Or do I have to upgrade the turbines as well?

the wheels are what's most important. swapping housings would do nothing for you. you need an entirely new turbocharger unfortunately.

I remember somebody posted awhile back that you can get a adapter plate to convert from a t28 to a t3 flange. I tried to look around on the internet but did not find

Ebay has them. The guy that made my flange wich happens to be a transition flange too makes anything you can think of.

oh ok, chris do you think there is enough room for a t3/t4 turbo with a adapter flange with your setup

I do not have alot of experience with Turbo VQs but I do have ALOT of SR20 experience. I just picked up a GT3071R for my turbo setup I am piecing for my 01 Max.

Its a T2 flange 50 a/r comp56 trim .86a/r 90trim turbine and its going to be used with TurboSpecialties manifold setup.

I don't know exactly how well this turbo will work on a VQ30DEK, but I picked it because I got a pretty good deal on it vs GT35R and the fact that I will not need anything special to install it on the TurboSpecialties manifold setup.

Neal what are your thoughts on this turbo ? 7psi spring in the HKS WG diaphragm, 480cc Deatschwerks injectors, Z32 MAF, Walbro and EU. I'm shooting for about 350WHP daily and I know that the turbo is good for about 500. My goal is response, not overall power. I want quick spooling turbo power.

I think that turbo would spool awesome. You'd never be out of boost around at track. The response would be wild.
