With all of the info that i keep learning I really would like to go the F/I route on my Maxima...but I was wondering if when I do the RMT if I should buy everything seperate or buy like an STS kit...I can get the STS kit through my buddies performance shop for $2000 which isn't horrible I guess. Hopefully whatever I do it will be done by the summer...

 

If you say you can get the STS kit for ~2000 through that hookup, that sounds pretty good. Since when did STS start making a kit for the Maxima? or would that be for their universal kit?

STS kits usually start at $3500 for a bare bones "get up and run" kit. It would make your life easy since everything will bolt up blah blah (assuming its a kit FOR the Max). If its a universal kit, you're gonna have to deal with the same bumps along the road that we had to for the installation. If you're mechanically inclined then its no problem.

Really you need to find out the specs of the turbo they would use for this kit, and what the accompanying parts of the kit are, for us to give you a better answer.

 

The kit is a universal kit...the turbo is a Single Journal Bearing 60-1, the kit comes with everything except intake/exhaust tubing and no fuel management so I would have to buy that seperate...I would like a good setup but not to much out of my pocket...I have seen guys pull off full kits for less then $2000 but I know it's not gonna be that cheap for my 5.5gen.
