question about location of wastegate

As you all know I'm doing a reverse feed y pipe on my car. I was wondering how close should the wastegate be to where the turbo bolts to the feed pipe?

You want to mount it after the collector on an angle. So the gases will flow into the wastegate smoother....You want the pipe for the wategate to branch off before the turbo in a Y configuration...

How close depends on spacing.. Some are 3 to 8 inches below the turbo. I will try to take some pics and messure mine.. You can find pics on Hal's old site: http://www.dynomagic.com/

Yes.. Thats the ideal way. But, if you can't do the Y just mount it straight......
