Boost a pump

Does anyone know where i can get one? I would like to run one on my 255 walbro. I know it decreases the life but hell walbros donr last for the most part anyways. I just need to be able to make it put out a lil more.

Google it, and check ebay. Also the pump doesn't really decrease pumplife the way you think. It's doesn't increase voltage 100% of the time.

yeah they're rarely on ebay..but occasionally you can find one on there. If you can't wait to find one used be ready to spend about 200 bones on one from a store.

I have had great success with my KB Boost-a-pump, and I would strongly recommend it, but only if you are needing that extra tiny amount of fuel to set your A/F on target. The BAP is a great unit, but I would personally suggest that you upgrade injectors first prior to upgrading to a KB Boost-a-pump.

Typically you don't want to exceed 80% duty cycle on injectors or some be running some exuberant fuel pressure. I see on your sig that you are planning on installing E-manage. Save some $$$ and just get larger injectors and fine tune them with your E-manage.

Just my $.02

I agree with you 100%, but I have to ask......if one has big enough injectors and a way to tune, I don't understand why a BAP would even be really necessary.

To ensure you have fuel. It just raises the voltage and keeps it steady. Thats all i want it for. And its worht it to me.

Sorry for the noob question but instead of running a BAP cant you run a better wire from the battery to the pump? I read something like this years back but dont remember all the details.

Plan on doing both. Better ground and better power run off a relay. but also a boost a pump.

Maybe rather than a BAP, maybe you might consider an aux pump. Back when Ian owned my car, the Walboro actually wasn't very reliable when the car got down to a quarter tank and pressure would sometimes drop. So we left in the T-rex aux pump that originally came with the Stillen S/C kit in. The 2 working together fixes that problem, and I think is a good alternative to boosting power to fuel pump. Just my thought.

It wasn't your pressure that dropped, it was the pumps inability to suck up the low amount of fuel. There's a simple fix to your problem. Read here.
