5th gen intake piping and fuel?

Hi,

I have done some extensive research on this and after hours and hours of reading i am still some what confused.

I might be buying a 4th gen v2 kit.

how can i route the aftermarket intake piping? i have heard some route the maf in the fender, but that seems too close to the blower.
Ive seen how the stock piping is, but this would be somewhat expensive to replicate those pipes in a shop.

also what fuel management would i need for my car?

so far i will have a walboro high flow pump and a cartech FMU. do i need anything else?

What are people with 5th gen cars using as far as MAF and fuel?

any engine bay pics of 5th gen 3.0's with aftermarket piping would be great as well.

You don't need a shop to replicate the pipes. Build it yourself using piping, couplers etc from intakehoses.com. All you'll need a shop to do is a quick weld for the BOV and recurculation.

The 5th gen MAF is fine in the fender. See the Stillen instructions for reference.

The Cartech FMU with 8:1 disc and Walboro pump is all you need for fuel management.

Start simple, modify later after it's up and running and troublefree!

In the still instructions what i see is two pipes, the charge pipe and the intake pipe,
both of them cross over to the other side of the car towards the battery.

My dilema is how to squeez two fabricated pipes in there, if i was a 4th gen then all i need is a charge pipe. but for a 5th gen i need to fabricate an intake pipe that crosses over and ends somewhere near the battery.

I have a basic idea of what it should look like, but its tough to fabricate from universal piping and 45, and 90 degree bends.

I completely and totally realize this... I still don't think it would be that difficult to construct yourself. A 60 degree bend pipe can be constructed from a 45 degree bend pipe by cutting off 7.5 degrees from each end....this is how Ptatohed and I got around not being able to source 60 degree bend pipes. Or, silicone couplers come in many different angles, much more so than the actual piping. Plus, silicone couplers can be bent slightly to compensate for any discrepancies/weird angles.

bro, a 5thgen maf can sit on the charged side no problem.....
I just converted from 5th gen piping to 4th gen piping and made a custom 3in elbow to my pathfinder TB. I then ran a filter to the fenderwell on the right side using 3in piping and a fujita filter.

Do you have a pic of your setup?

I've read that 5th gen MAF's are sensitive to turbulance on the charged side.

Is your car running ok with the maf on the charged side?

well.....so far so good....
I will try to take pics this weekend, I am having some idling problems but I have not narrowed down the problem as yet......I think it is related to a boost leak....I am awaiting a part to fix the boost leak, but I have seen a 5th gen maf work on the charged side with no problem before.....

.....and I've read many cases were it hasn't worked. After being switched to the non-charged side, the issues went away.
