MEVI vs Stock in boost app?

Does anyone have a dyno chart showing the differences in the powerband between a stock manifold and MEVI on a boosted motor?

I use MEVI and SC but I never tried it with the USIM. I'd say it'd have a good effect on boosted applications as the power curve progressively increases throughout the top of the rev range.

Plus.. USIM = lame

For exact power figures, im sure someone has done a before and after dyno on a boosted app??

I'm guessing I'll see 30-40whp increases at the 3-400whp level between a stock 4th gen manifold and MEVI? This is a turbo car, btw..

If the difference between 00VI and MEVI is about 15 irc then I think the 30 till 40 HP is about right.

It depends on the turbo. the MEVI will definately help..even more so on a smaller turbo where they tend to fall on there face top end. small turbo + usim would suck lol..

I don't have any dyno charts, but take the effects it has on an NA application and multiply it by 2 at the very least. It's basically a compound effect.

If you look on my site, I have a dyno graph comparing a boosted car w/ MEVI to 00VI, but unfortunately no USIM.

MEVI feels good with SC. Nice gradual power, then after 4k its like someone strapped a jet on the back of the car.

people posted dynos back in the day when the mevi was popular and yes the difference was in the neighborhood of 30-40whp. stephenmax has 00vi vs mevi dyno charts posted up somewhere as well (they used to be stickied but I don't see them anymore). the title of the post was "proof 00vi owns mevi" or something of that nature, which should give an indication of the content of the post.

Nice.. I can't wait to see what this turbo VQ30 powered Spec V is going to do with 30-40 more whp! I'm revving it out to 7500rpm, but the stock manifold sucks!

Even N/A you'll have 30-40whp more at redline (6500) with an 00VI compared to stock USIM so you should get at least that boosted with MEVI.

Hope that works: top is boosted 00VI vs MEVI and bottom is all three 00VI.MEVI and USIM.

Cool.. thanks for the graphs! The power really drops like a brick with the stock mani!

It feels like your supercharger has a supercharger. I finally have some highway power. I love it.

At 13psi with USIM my power peaked at like 5400rpm and dropped 70hp to 6400rpm - this was with a pretty large turbo so it would have been high rpm biased compared to many setups out there.

It always surprised me that a manifold designed for natural aspiration actually had any effect when boosted. As I understand it, the MEVI opens butterfly valves at a set rpm which changes the pressure in the manifold - which in turn creates a dynamic supercharging effect???? I wonder why in hell that a manifold makes any difference when the atmospheric pressure is controlled by whatever boost application you're running (SC or Turbo). You see a lot of boosted cars around with just flat, short length manifolds.

That 00vi vs MEVI thread is also interesting.

I think it's more proof that ANY VI owns the USIM, rather than the 00vi owning the MEVI. They're quite close and it looks like you wont notice much difference when boosted anyway. MEVI = a lot easier to install in a 4th gen too.

My two cents.

You're forgetting about the natural supercharger, atmospheric pressure.
