Yeah, not overly surprised with all the knock offs on the market. You cant really blame people though. Some of these knock offs perform pretty well now, almost to a point where people are starting to question paying greddy 2-3 times as much of the cost of a knock of item for almost the same thing.

Its sad that big companies like greddy do all the R&D behind products, then these knock off comapnies come along, do no R&D and sell the same thing for a lot less. Everyone knows R&D is where the real money is dropped, if they dont do it, then look at the money they can save.

I guess i should pick up an EB/EU now, while theyre still in buisness lol.

I hope they learn from this and are able to keep going, and also other big companies, hks, tomei, and so on. I really hope they copyright and patent their stuff now too.

it's simple...just have people stop buying cheap knockoffs...but that will never happen because it's all about the bottom line and people are cheap w/ buying parts.

that's why greddy/trust is going under

I dont belive that was their only problem. They didnt patent or copyright allot of their stuff. Look at things like their oil pans, manifolds, turbo outlets, they were unique. I wouldnt think that it would have been too hard to patent them. And i think it also had allot to do with cashflow/managment problems and not being able to adjust to the changing market.

Unless by alot you mean hundreds and hundreds, it wouldn't have been worthwhile. I'm not new to the maxima community. I know how it goes..

If they had proprietary technology in their turbos, maybe they'd have a shot at being patentable. (Not the turbos themselves, of course, but the "inventions" embodied in them.) But, they would have had to patent the technology within one year of putting it on sale. Manifolds and oil pans most certainly wouldn't pass the non-obviousness requirement (among other conditions). Even if Greddy managed to get such patents to issue, they'd be very weak and easily invalidated.

Also, these products (like most automobile parts, cars, etc.) are not eligible for copyright protection because they are functional.

you do understand what filing chapter 11 bankruptcy means right?
doesn't mean they are going to close the doors. it's simply a reorg and they should still operate as normal in terms of supply of goods.
