The turbo when all said and done with full rebuild will be about 650. I plan to try to run close to 20psi out of this turbo which will put it at the lower part of the island and close to 80lb/min.

Wow that Max is going to be a beats... after I get my initial setup running good at 12 pounds and hopefully seeing high 300's low 400's on my Vq35 6-spd I am going to upgrade as well and push the limits, I just purchased a Vq35 from a buddy at the Infinity dealer out of a M35 with 40k miles for $400!! Talk about a steal, this motor will go into next setup, because before I throw it in I'm going to run a 100 shot and go until the motor blows just for ****s and Giggles haha

If you cant find a 6 blade wheel get a 7 blade. Flows almost as much but either one will make tins of power if you tune is on point and your motor is ready for it. I dont mind you posting here man we are all here to learn from each other.

The question is where do you want to make your power? You can make the same power with a smaller turbo but it will place your power band in a different area. Too small of a turbo you wont make much for power but it will be very very responsive and have a fast violent spool as i had last year. I plan to use other additives to get this turbo to spool where i want tho. On a 3.0 I woulnt use a HX52. Get yourself a HX40 and you will be more than happy. Try to find a 6 blade wheel.

You dont need a Twin for that setup.. I have not seen a twin on 5th gen or anything yet as it is just WAYYY too much work and porbably not cost effective.. you can do well with a single turbo like a 62-1 ball bearing.. do a little more looking around.. people have done builds and some are in the process.. mine is in the process right now

It honestly sounds like you will need to do more reading. You dont NEED twins. It will not help you in this situation, it will only make things more complicated. Thee is a sticky in this section. Spend some time there . It will help you with some of your questions. The rest, try to search. If that doesnt work then post a thread and one of us will help you if we can.

You guys are going to love the holset turbo's. I have a friend who had a turbo civic making 519whp on a GT35R at 29psi, he went to the HX40 7 blade and made 552whp at ONLY 19psi. He tried to up the boost to 24psi but then it would spike to 28-32psi with slipping the clutch..... And btw this car runs low 10's to high 9's.
Another friend of minz with another civic got 26psi, and made 572whp.
I myself even run a hx40 8 blade with a BEP T3 .70 turbine housing in my S13 with a fully built and stroked SR22DET motor. I've been doing research for 4 years now on these turbo's, and now I'm looking into the HX45 Pro for a drag setup on my S13.

I have seen the HX50, HX52 pro, HX55, and HX60 thanks to my local performance shop who build and race 9-10sec's RX7s. These guys see 40-50psi on the regular on the 13b's, in which no maxima will ever see these turbo's full potential thanks to our motor and weak *** trannys (in fact I just broke 1st gear and shaft with a 60-1 on 8psi) . This shop also did my setup on my maxima too and I knew the owner for about 10 years.

Yes, but, the amount of airflow a turbo is capable of doesn't mean that's what the engine is also capable of. On really any all-factory VQ motor, you can't run the ridiculous boost pressures needed to make that kind of power with that turbo.

So in all every car, motor, turbo, even intercoolers all have their limits...
