New turbo is on its way.
SO winter is here and some of us are redoing our cars. Me personally 340whp was not enough. I have taken all of my old turbo pipes out and i am starting from scratch. What i am planning on doing is a header setup similar to a det. For a turbo i have chosen a Holset HX 52 . Some may think its large but for what i am trying to do its perfect. Along with the new turbo and feed setup it is getting a 4 point cage . I plan to get pics along the way. Wish me good luck.

Ok first my power goals are almost twice what i have now lol. Im doing pistons and rods for the 3.5 before i put it in. That is really the only internal work I plan to do. I think that with this turbo and the spray i should be able to hit what i want. Its not going to be easy i know but i have a little time to get it together.

also I do not think a 4 point cage is nhra legal for a 10sec car

good luck with the build I would to see like your dreams come true and to just see another 10sec maxima but I do have a question why didn't you push your old setup alittle farer cause with 340whp you clearly had alot more in the motor and could have run 11's with the 3.0

NO NO NO. An HX52? Are you serious? Have you recieved it yet? It's not even going to fit under the hood! Even the HX40 is quite large, and you can get wheels for them that will flow 72/lb's, that HX52 is really close to 100lb/min in it's regular trim!
Anyways, damn, I do look forward to seeing this, I hope you're considering an oil-pump as well (Plus the HR HG's & bolts re:jwt), you're gonna want to turn some serious rev's. What nissan silica will you be trying to put this through?
Is the hx52 a divided entry?

i will see which one will do the job better.

your looking for close to 700whp but only lookng for low 11's/high 10's this makes no sense most 3000lbs car only need around 500hp

I am pretty sure going to need a extended rev limiter for this setup, honestly I do not think you though out the entire project and your still in the early stages of planing
I think you need to dig into the nhra rule book also cause your going to be kicked off alot of tracks less your really cool with the track people

psh 340whp is not enough. thats pretty darn respectable in my book. but as they say, more is better. dunno how your gonna fit a hx52 under there but in for the results.
good luck and don't get too excited and blow something up

Tis turbo can support 700+whp on our bitty v6's.lol The problem is making the power where it counts aka (under the curve)

Make sure you get an OEM passenger axle--i learned the hard way. Also, I have a 6spd flywheel with 5psd CPS ring if you're looking for one. The ring needs to be adjusted by a machine shop, but it shouldn't run more than $80 to put into spec.

If I were you, I'd be sanding that thing clean and giving it a good polish. The black might have looked ok if it was done right, but it looks like someone used a paint brush to do it
#34
drill driven polishing tool probably would help with that. I've used one twice. works fairly well. They are flexible and fairly long and accept many polishing/buffing attachments

good luck bro. I know we talked alot before maybe some day we can actually meet up. Yea polish your new snail that black paint looks >>>> ***. If done right you could probably pull it off the right way. Have your thought about straight cut gear's? The turbo is huge btw looks like its gonna spool at like 6k lol. Once again gonna watch your process carefully and best of luck def. some crazy stuff you wanna do. Slowly but surely

Good luck on this project! I agree with them, you should probably consider repainting or polishing this turbo for a cleaner look.

I think everybody is talking about extending the revs so you can actually stay in some powerband with that monster spooling >5k rpms... lol! Even with nitrous I doubt it will be very usable up to only 6500. Regardless, I hope you get it working like you want it and can't wait for results!
