ACT NM1-HDG6

Some of the more power-endowed members here including Hal, Neal and myself (I was turbo before lol) have been using this clutch nothing but amazing results.

HD Pressure Plate= yes it is stiffer than OEM, but its nothing bad. I too was scared of this but its nothing out of this world

G6 Disc= It is a SPRUNG HUB, 6-puck disc

VERY highly recommend it for its power-holding capabilities, LONGEVITY/ RELIABILITY (which Specs unfortunately don't have a good reputation for [even if my Spec2 served me just fine for 2yrs.. maybe I just got really lucky]), everyday drivability

Cant comment on how well it grabs/holds up, but comparing this clutch (in 95BLKMAX) car to a stock cluch, it's not heavy at all. Very streetable.

I highly recommend clutchnet. A 6 puck sprung hub and probably a yellow pressure plate though you could go red. It's what I had before and it what i"m going with again. Some memeber say there's a chattering problem but honestly I don't really notice that at all.

Very easy driving to be honest. I had a very light pedal.

Not for 400 hp. I had a clutchnet 6 puck and red pressure plate. It would not hold 366 hp back when I was on 6 pounds of boost. It chattered terribly, had a rough engagement, and slipped so badly the first time I went to the track when I took it out a few weeks later it was all melted looking and the PP was burned up and warped. I called them and they said too bad, even though they said it would hold the power no problem.

I went with an ACT XTreme pressure plate and the normal street disk. It has a heavier pedal feel but drives like stock with an easy engagement and no chatter. It has never let me down at the track either, even on 12 psi now on slicks.

I have had a bunch of different clutches, Spec, Clutchnet, ACT, Exedy. I won't buy another one unless its ACT. There are a few different combos. I would go with the HD pressure plate and 6 puck sprung disk for a lighter pedal feel but a little more chatter during daily drivability but awesome holding power, or the XTreme pressure plate and street disk for heavier feel but no chatter and awesome holding power. Even the standard ACT package with the HD pressure plate and street disk will hold more power than 90% of maxima owners will ever have.

Yea I must say that the ONE downside of the ACT HDG6 combo is the slight chatter. Its easy to learn to avoid it for 1st gear (thats the only forward gear it would do it on), but once you learn the trick, no problem. Reverse on the other hand yea it will always chatter. But really... not as if you drive blocks and block in reverse, so who cares? lol

This is the combination I have. Im running a S/C and a VQ35DE on 13 psi and Im holding with a yellow pressure plate. No slip problems at all. Very easy on the leg in traffic as well.

I also use the Spec stage 3 and it has stood up to more than 4 years and 60K of abuse without a single issue or slipping. Pedal pressure is just like stock, and driveability is excellent. I recently had the clutch out and measured it for wear, and at this point its about 1mm thinner than when I first bought it!! I believe it will hold up for atleast another 60K minimum. Ive been nothing but thrilled with this clutch, highly recomended.

I'm running an ACT Xtreme PP and the full street disc and I'm extremely happy with it. I had the Clutchnet 6-puck and I don't think I would go with a puck clutch ever again for a daily driver, the chattering gets annoying and makes the car feel like a piece.

I would not let anything from Spec reside within my car. I hate that company with a passion because of the problems I've personally seen with their clutches.

I've got an ACT HD Pressure Plate and Clutchnet 6 puck sprung hub disk (which is essentially the same as the ACT 6 puck sprung hub disk) and it held fine up to 400-410ish wheel torque on slicks for the few passes I made on it at that power level before I took the car back apart - I have no reason to believe it wouldn't have continued to hold if I hadn't torn the car apart to redo my setup. I have an ACT XT Pressure Plate waiting in the wings just in case my current combo is unable to hold the torque of my new setup (whenever that gets done).
