Info about 350zIM on 3.5, fuel rail and return conversion. (5.5gen)

Alright I searched around and didn't find everything I was looking for. Not looking for speculation, more looking for people who have done the swap or have direct experience with it.

350Z IM on the 3.5 requires the lower IM from the 350 because of port matching, i know that much. I know all about the modification needed to fit our TB on it and have a friend who is pretty experienced with aluminum welding who is going to do the work.

Things I'd like to know, did your maxima fuel rail/injectors fit right onto it? Did you swap to a 350z fuel rail? Do the aftermarket IMs (MREV 2, kinetix) fit fine? I'd probably just end up with a revup due to the minimal gains from the aftermarket ones anyway. Were you able to fit the smaller (5/16") spacers?

With my fuel system I need to run a FPR, I COULD tap the line before the fuel rail and do a return from the FPR to the tank (will tap the tank for the return line), or I could tap the end of the fuel rail loop, and have a FPR inline with the return line from there.

I'm thinking tapping the end of the fuel rail will be best for even flow to all the injectors. Has anybody tried this, any trouble I should know about?

If you have links to threads about this stuff that I've missed, please link it up in this thread.

As soon as I finish getting all the info I need about injectors/etc I'll start making purchases, just need to make sure I get everything right the first time!

edit: Also - Blow through MAF. I'd rather have it after the BOV just before the TB. Has anybody had issues doing this with the 5.5 gen maf?

From what I have read in the past I don't think anyone has used the 5/16 spacer with the manifold yet. I believe they had to remove the hood support brace just to get the manifold to fit. However I say go ahead and try. Also not sure anyone has run the revup manifold, just the regular. I have a feeling I am completely wrong on this info though and someone can come on here and correct it.

Well I don't think the revup is any different in height, just different runners (shorter) which supports my goals moreso than the earlier manifold.

I'm mostly interested in the fuel rail stuff. That's going to be my biggest hitch if I can't use my stock fuel rail or the return setup won't work for some reason.

I am running this set-up actually.
350z lower with 350z injectors and rails and re-worked upper IM with a 5/16 spacer. The x-bracing of the hood had to be cut as well some material was shaved off the lower and upper IM but it fits.
However to answer your question as simple as possible. The 350z fuel rail and maxima fuel rail.

will the 350z IM give you a good Hp gain, seems like a hassle to do this, if its only for 5-6hp

I searched the topic a few times and haven't found any info about injectors/fuel rail. If I missed those threads then please link them, I wouldn't have posted for no reason...

Well I'm hoping it'll be more than 5-6 hp gains over the SSIM on a boosted engine. Meximax had some pretty great results with it.

You can use your current fuel rail and injectors.
