Driving around Video clip
I made this small video clip just to share how the car is funning right now, feels pretty good, boost is at about 12-13psi, torque converter is unlocked. I also let off between shifts to help it go into the next gear, otherwise it will just slip too much.
Unfortunately you dont hear the turbo as loud as before because I put the "silencer" better known as the MWE(map width enhancement) on the turbo. Since the turbo is at its peak in efficiency i put that in just to slightly help it stay in its efficiency range.

wow. again. very nicely done sir. Im actually in the process of piecing together a similar setup soon. Im hoping the 5spd will be able to hold in third..

Its a ring they have at the mouth of the turbos compressor inlet. they call it a "silencer" because when installed you don't hear the turbo's whistle as much, but thats not its real function (sound is just a byproduct), the purpose of it is to shift the surge limit, so when uninstalled it allows for less surge but also sacrifices the turbos performance (since it moves the map to the sides), when installed u are more prone to surge but you have a more efficient turbo (how much, who knows).

nah i dont drift.. jus liike to see da expressions on the faces of drivers behind ms and wen they walk behind my car.. its shadow from sonic the hedchog how ever u spell dat.. jus had it and it matched my rims so.. i put it on da tow hook.. it actually looks like its standing up behind my car so people freak out

If you notice I let off the gas very very quickly and get back on it right at the shift, all I have is the DR mod everyone should have, since the BOV opens up and boost drops instantly the auto shifts instantly. Basically it really shifts that fast when its N/A. but with power theres alot of slip so thats why i have started to let off, till I upgrade the VB, and try out some idea i have on another thread.
btw what did you mean by short shift? like shift sooner in the RPM? if thats what you meant, I had it set to manual mode(notice at one point i press a button with a little red light on the dash), so i shift it using a little switch i have, basically like tiptronic but on a 3way switch, (click up and shifts up, click down and downshifts).

I keep telling people, they all worked up on 5sp this, 5sp that, till they feel a turbo auto, or they fall back everytime they shift next to me lol. Iv come across actual faster cars than mine and had them stay next to me or behind me just because I had no delay at all, while they fell back between shifts. And its rare to find someone that actually powershifts or shifts like a machine like nealoc or something.

nah, I can get full boost in all gears, in 1st gear it goes to about 10psi because there is no load since the tires are basically spinning as if it was on ice. but if it was on slicks at the track, 1st would also get higher boost.

LOL nah, its still got a good amount of life in it, just gotta warm it up before driving so it can go into all gears, i let off the gas in the vid to help it shift and also to keep it from spinning, if i keep it WOT it will continues to spin and turn into a full out burnout lol

I just got laid off. I saved up enough to do it right this spring and then bam, no more job. Unless I can find a good paying job here quick, probably isn't gonna happen for yet another year...
