That would depend upon whether you are going to strengthen the internals....

And also what kind of racing you will do. A quick spooling smaller turbo for autox or a bigger turbo for 1/4.

yeah if you want a great all around turbo, I'd go with a gt35 style turbo. If your heavy into draging at the track a t60-1 or t61 style turbo.

remove t31 flange, install t4.

after that, your budget restrictions will be needed to further advise. how much are you looking to spend on the turbo alone?

GT35, 60-1, and T61 (and 62-1) are all in the same size category. 60-1 being about 10% smaller (as far as flow is concerned) than the other 3, which are all damn close to each other.

1200 is my budget for the turbo ... so in order to use a gt35 i would need a t4 flange also im looking for a turbo that starts to spool around 2800-3000 and pulls all the way to red line

Use the turbo that t6378tp uses. He can give you the specs but I believe it is a Master Power T61... Should be just what you are looking for.

They are practically identical. The GT35 is a ball bearing turbo and will spool faster. I believe the T61 uses the same compressor housing and wheel as the GT35, but it is a journal bearing turbo. It really comes down to how much money you want to spend on a turbo.

why in the world would you want a 5 bolt downpipe flange? I can't think of a downpipe setup that I'd want less than those crap *** internal gate 5 bolt hot sides.

GT35R, all other things being equal, will spool a little bit faster than a T61 would. You don't NEED a T4 flange, you can get both with a T31 flange if you want, but there's no reason to. T31 hot side will just choke it off up top, and not gain you much in spool. It's just inferior for your application. GT35R and T61 wheels are not the same, but the perform pretty much the same. With a GT35R you need to run coolant lines to the turbo as well as oil lines (all ball bearing turbos are that way). That's a major consideration. You can get a non ball bearing GT35 (the R is what means it's ball bearing) for cheaper, that has the newer wheels of the GT35R but is cheaper and doesn't require coolant lines.

All these turbos are physically approximately the same size... you wouldn't have any fitment issues with one that you don't have with another as long as you get the same hot side setup.

I have master power t61 with a t4 flange and .68 a/r on the exhaust, my piping is basicly like yours and it starts to spool are 3k in 2nd gear and I can make it start at 25k

A gt35 is alittle smaller than mine and will spool faster but will not make continue to make power till redline in every gear

I'm looking 2 make 380 to wheels .... So I can use a t4 flange with a t61 ....does this turbo have alot of turbo lag ..... I see in 1 post t6378tp said that a gt35r will not continue to make power up top is this true ... I am so confused wen it comes to which turbo 2 buy I think I might go with the same turbo t6378tp has if it spools at 2800... But then again I like the gt35r because it requires oil and coolant also it spools a little bit faster

I think you'll be fine with a gt35r for that power goal, it will keep its power upto.

on a 3.0 yes but on a 3.5 no a t61 will continue to climb till redline. A gt35 it will make the power he is looking for easy and he should will be very happy with the spool. I picked the t61 cause it's something I can grow, will work with future projects and will make power to 7k

BTW, here is a graph of a gt35r on a 3.5

That's not me but it was on like 5-6lbs

A t61 is slightly bigger than a t60-1 and a t60-1 is slightly bigger than a t60

60-1 hi-fi is NOT the same as a T61... 60-1 is about 10-12% less flow than a T61 and it has a crappy T3 hot side on it...
