My s/c pulley is coming loose again...whats the fix?

hey, i had this issue the first week that my pulley seemed that it was sliding off and rubbing the bolts held captive. it was installer error, i didnt have the washer(s) on the pulley correct and the pulley had play. so i fixed that, and put blue tocktite on it. tightened as tight as i could. 2 weeks later, tonight i see that its doing it again. im assuming it has just occurred within the last day or so. luckily, i was planning on swapping to the 2.87 pulley tomorrow anyways, so it was just on time. but what can i do to prevent this again?

how permanent is red locktite? how is the original setup supposed to look? i have the pulley, then a thick looking washer, and then the stock hex cap screw. ive since added more washers cuz there was play (my issue the first time). any other routes i can take? ive seen some with just regular hex head bolts...or am i just tightening it like a sissy?

you can get the stock one which will solve your issues as i told you before i have some spare bolt also you can get pulley key and a new or used pulley and the bolt is a hex set up from stillen

I wouldnt use red

How are you holding your pulley while tightening the bolt ? I use a rubber Oil Change wrench on the pulley, and then tighten the bolt. I never had an issue with that coming loose

Agreed.

That's the first question that came to my mind as well.

Yep thats the proper way to do it also get the proper pulley washer so you dont have the same problem proping up, When i was supercharged had the same problem until i replace the washer, used the rubber strap oil filter changer wrench to tighten the pulley.
