I just purchased my turbo parts now i just want to know what is the best most reliable way to hook it up? reverse y-pipe? or custom manifolds?

Im 3rd gen but maybe this will give you an idea. Made these early this year.

This is how I have my turbo sitting. Wasn't easy to fit 3" downpipe down the back.
And my old setup which was very easy to setup and nice to work on when needed.

This had same headers I just modified my crossover pipe to turn the turbo the other way and fit the bigger holset.

Nice setup...looks very nice thats the way im thinking about going...wondering if I can use 350z manifolds... may hit the engine mount but could modify it atleast i wouldnt have to make custom manifolds

a reverse is no more reliable than a forward feedpipe, it's just easier and cheaper to make a reverse. The only problem is a reverse feed spools slower than a forward and since it crosses the tranny it has to be removed to the service tranny were a forward does not
I think i may attempt the 350z manifolds or just make a set of custom manifolds since i work at a performance shop and have the materials handy and my boss to weld em for free.99

I'm using the VQ30DET manifold. It's a pretty tight squeeze infront of the radiator, and I had to fabricate a new front engine mount that sits lower. If I was to start all over, I probably wouldn't use it.

i thought of those also thx for the input
thx but i work at performance and styling in manchester, owner is john he used to work at xxtuning so he will be making whatever i decide to go with

^^^ And why do you state that? Z manifolds would be more equal length when installed on a fwd motor since they point towards the trans. Then all is needed is to run a downpipe in the same location as the stock exhaust. That way there is plenty of ground clearence still.

Has he installed Turboes on a 4th gen before?Originally Posted by 3.5pearlmax

If this is in reference to 350z exhaust manifolds, then the answer is yes they do clear the radiator.Originally Posted by Kevlo911
I don't think they will clear the radiator

if you can go with custom
