My fuel pressure isn't rising

Hello,

I haven't been working on the boosted maxima for a while and I'm now in the process of getting things back and running properly so hopefully you guys can refresh my memory. I have an in car autometer electronic FP gauge which reads 32psi at base pressure. When I turn the car to acc I hear the FP kick on and the car starts perfectly fine and idles pretty good. When I push the car a little I notice the FP gauge only rises to about 40psi and doesn't want to go past that. I let off on the gas obviously because if the FP isn't rising I don't want to damage anything else.

The car has an AEM FPR with I believe the OEM FPR port adapter to keep factory base FP while using stock injectors (this is bad I can't even remember exactly how the car is set up!!), Vortech FMU, and a Walbro Fuel pump. Anyone else have any experiences with this? What do you think it is the FRP, fuel pump, or FMU? I just don't want to go out and spend money on the wrong parts. Any and all help is appreciated!

If the afr is good in boost there should be nothing wrong. What is the wideband reading?

unfortunately, I do not have a wideband. I bought another AEM FPR off ebay yesterday and I'll install it this weekend and see what happens. It would be great if I could remember how to set base FP though...I'll do some searching. It's been a while!

to set the base fuel you just need to remove the vac source from the afpr and adjust it to 43psi or whatever you want it to be at wot. next put the vac source back on and the fuel psi should drop back to around 35 at idle and rise at a 1-1 rate when in boost. make sure you are using a good vac source ie intake manifold

hmm okay I thought I remembered removing the vac line from the FMU too or something.

So to clarify, with my fuel setup (stock injectors, stock ECU, walbro 255, AEM FPR, and a Vortech FMU) just remove the vac line (with the car running) on the AEM FPR and turn the bolt on top of the FPR until the FP gauge reads 43psi. Then once I put the vac line back on the FPR (with the car still running) the base FP should then return to stock around 34psi?

Thanks man, much appreciated!

yep then you will have to play with the disk size or fuel psi to tune the car if you don't have anything ie safc/vafc/eb/em

Ya if using a fmu you shouldn't see an increase in fuel pressure unless motor is seeing boost.

looks like it was just a vac leak. I changed out some T fittings and a few vac hoses and reset my base FP to 34psi and all seems good now.

Anyone need an AEM FPR? I bought one for nothing lol
