THE Wideband Thread
I had the LC-1 with the DB gauge and the LC-1 gave me nothing but problems. It would work fine for a few weeks and then would give an error, Id have to recalibrate it all the time. It eventually stopped working all together so I thought the sensor went bad, replaced it nothing. Checked on the Innovative forums and apparently a lot of people had the same problems. I call Innovative and they simply replaced the whole unit. Once I got the new one, I sold it.
Youre not the only horror story Ive read about on the LC-1 which is why I decided to steer away from it. As of now Im on the fence between the SLC PP and the UEGO. The SLC looks quite promising and seems user friendly while the UEGO is more affordable at the moment. Also, I can always upgrade in the long run....I just want to get her dialed in badly.

But seriously, that rpm pickup capability will be so worth it. Trying to record the rpm vs afr might be trickier than you think. For example the tach in your gauge cluster is not exact. On a side note, I was trying to find someone who makes just a RPM pickup so you can datalog to your laptop using some free software along with the aem uego but I'm not having any luck and the ones I did find cost at least twice as much as the SLC PP $210. I'd go for the SLC PP.

I'll help you save money: http://www.kmart.com/shc/s/p_10151_1...W332276110001P Eat these for a few days and you'll have enough saved for the wideband. That's what I'm doing.

Im used to eating those everyday. Ive been to prison. Ramen Noodles is considered gourmet in there
.If you can fine that someone that makes the rpm pickup, that'd be great!
The SLC intrigued me at first but after reading about the issues (sometimes wont pickup rpm from 5k-7k among others), Im now leaning towards the ZT-2.
Things like that to be expected from the first generation of a product. Hell, by the time I rack up enough money to actually get the WB, the SLC couldve ironed everything out. For now, my choice is the ZT-2.
Considering that Innovate ships the product out with old and confusing instructions, and not to mention that even the most current instructions that have to be downloaded from thier website are a still a little bit tricky to follow (but definitely doable and understandable), IMO 99% of problems associated with the LC-1 have to do with poor installation and the inability to follow the most current downloadable instructions exactly as stated in the manual. I think it's a great product, just a bit tricky to install (at least it was for me 3 years ago).
If I had to do it again, I'd choose between Innovate, AEM, or PLX, with slight favoritism towards AEM.
