07 SC questions

Ive been searching and search and cant find many clear answers. i have an 07 with cvt and have been thinking of buying a sc kit off a member that had it on his 3.0 car. comes with 5psi and 10psi pulleys and think ill be fine with 5psi for a while. decent hp gain with less cost than full bolt ons and sc''ing should go well with how the cvt operates.

questions:
any differences in sc plate bolting to engine?

fuel- will just a walbro and fmu do the trick? do i need to make a true return off the end of the fuel rail? can i swap rails from a 3.0 car?

timing- does the factory timing need to be modified with 5psi?

thanks fellas

The 3.0VQ Supercharger kit will NOT bolt onto the 3.5 engine.

I am in the process, slow process, of making a kit that will adapt to the 3.5 motor timing cover.

your just a few months shy of your 5 year anniversary of developing a kit for the 3.5.... how many more years do you need?

The problem comes in when I ask guys with these motors, for information, nothing is given to me. I have posted several questions about certain things on the main thread I started, and not one person gave insite.
I dont have a 2002+Maxima to do this so its gonna be slow. I am working on it

1) This kit will totally do away with the cooler line and will require you to plug up the cooler line at the bottom of the engine. Will this be an issue ? The 3.0L never had a coolant line running down there and I doubt thats its a huge deal.
It wont leak if that's the question. Just plug them. But as far as cooling issues, we wont know until we try. I don't see a problem since the VQ35 has better cooling at the sleeves than the VQ30.

They're the same. Even if they weren't, east fix. I'm not 100% sure it's the same timing cover due to the CVTC on the I cams.

I cannot speak for 04-07. OP, any local 5.5 gens you could swap notes with?

I'm far too far. Anyone?

Consider posting these types of questions in the 5th gen forum. Couldn't hurt, I'll lock it down or clean it up if it gets too silly.

matty feel free to ask me any questions you need. im very inclined in this feild having personally built my old 530whp ka-t s14 and a few other turbo 240sx's.

email structuregts@hotmail.com
call/text 856 649 3311

i also have access to a chassis dyno at my uncles machine shop and plenty of other resources

like i mentioned a sc kit i feel would do great with the cvt where as the turbos fall off up top probably from lack of load where as rpms stay high would keep boost at peak with the sc.

im also thinking of doing some nitrous for now til a sc is an option

For the A34/ L31 , there are alot more things in the way than the A32/A33 body.

You would need to relocated the relay box and wiper bottle neck (which doesn't detach IIRC )

may also need a smaller overflow bottle , Ive install one of your plates S/C on a a32 and a33 and I must say there is more room than my a34.

Ive by-pass my cooler lines with no issues as already mention above.
I hope this helps

nizmo101
which cooler lines are you speaking of?
have you put one of these plates on a 3.5 motor?

also i was told i could swap a timing cover from a 3.0 motor onto my 3.5 to bolt on a sc kit for a 3.0

Can't us 6th gens just Rmt the dam things? Why is chrymax the only turboed 6th gen max??????? I do not get this! It's the most easiest setup. If I haven't been on dad duty for past 3yrs this project would be already coming together, which is now about to be now! soon. 5psi isn't going to hurt. Look at what's streetzlegend has done. He's opened it up for us all. I haven't been on here for over 4yrs I had a 98gxe auto zex wet 75shot, y-pipe, header, underdrive pully custom exhaust no cat etc.. 275hp 290trq 13.9 at muncie . Sorry not tryn to intrude on everyone, I've been reading for a week now, all streetegends post cherymax etc... I don't wanna run 10 20 psi. Just get me to 300hp. So why would this be a problem? Any answers would be appriciated. I really would like to make this happen. Is there anything in my way?
