just ordered the Continental ContiExtremeContact tires

i got em for 420 with lifetime rotation and balance and installation, i found em on tirerack for 371 shipped but than i'd have to get someone to install em and balance them so i went with the price above. The reviews on tirerack on these tires are amazing, 9.1 out of 10 with 87 reviews, i really hope these tires are good, anyone had any expierences with these tires?...they're comin in next week and than i'll give you guys an update

I am also looking forward to your impressions of these. I am probably going to get the Extream Contact or the RE950 but I am leaning towards the Extream Contact based on the tire rack reviews.

One of the reasons I am getting these is to soften my ride a bit (H&R/AGX). Let us know what tires you are replacing and the change in ride if you don't mind.

I'm with you guys. Got the same tires on hold at Discount Tire waiting on the VOLK's to get here. Wanted something with better tread wear and all season. Price I'm paying is a lot more, but I'm getting 255/40/18.

well guys, i finally got em put on after a week of BS, the shop i ordered em from were supposed to get em on wednesday and the guy told me that they never put in the order so he said i'd have to wait 2 weeks for them cause they were comin out of cali or something which i think is BS, i ordered em off tirerack and got em in two days

but anways, my first impression of these tires is that they are really quiet, ALOT better than the ones i had on em, by the way i had some mastercraft avengers on him, haha, don't ask why, these tires also feel alot better on the car, its a soft kinda ride, i haven't been in the rain with them yet but i'm takin a trip to nashville this weekend and i'll test out on the way a little more, i'll update you guys again when i get back, so far, i love these tires, pretty cheap on tirerack, i think they're worth it

and to whom that wanted me to weigh the tire, i completely forgot, i got the tires in at about 4 and the shops close around 5 so i had to hurry and get em installed, sorry

Thanks for the update. Did you go with the 215 or the 225? (You have stock SE rims, right?) One of the reviews read on tire rack said these seemed a bit narrower than other tires in the same size, does that seem to be true?

yeah i went with the 215 on stock SE rims, i don't really think they are narrow at all, they look about the same from my old tires, but i really like the tread pattern on the tire, makes it look a little agressive. Ima test them out in the rain and let you guys know how they handle, so far, i'm very happy with these tires, pretty cheap on tirerack

thanks for the updates. I looking at getting these tires and will probably purchase them. I am not sure which size I want, 215/55/16 or 225/50/16? can't decided. They will probably be mounted on Millie miglia Evo5's.

I have the conti tires on my VG mounted on 4th gen wheels. They are quieter than the Kumho712's iv'e had before, and don't track at all. However I have Yokohama AVS dB S's on my VE and I like them much better. They are absolutely amazing in the rain, and unbeliveably quiet. To be quite honest with you, I think the Conti's are ugly as hell, the tread pattern is rather mundane, and the sidewall design makes the tire look like something off of a minivan. The only downside to them is that they don't have the wear rating that the Conti's have. Plus if I'm not mistaken, tirerack has some type of rebate offer on the yokos.

In comparing the Contis to the Pilot AS Sports from Michelin in my driving Mercedes Benz on their course...teh touring cars get the Contis and are much less solid in their handling and control...the Michelin Pilot AS Sports are on the S500 S600 and other ultra high performance sedans and coupes and they will make your spirited driving safer hands down.
