Flat tire, need some advice

On my way to work this morning I heard something get caught in my wheelweel or on my front tire, thought it was the right side. It flew off after 3 seconds or so but I never saw what it was. Got to work in 10 min, no problem. Then I go to my car at lunch and the left front tire is flat, ugh. Got the donut on now and gotta get some new tires. I've heard good things about Dunlop A2(~115 per), Bridgestone Potenza RE950(~140 per), Michelin Pilot Sport A/S(pricey~200 per), Toyo Proxy and Sumitomo HTR+. Been on tirerack.com to compare prices and brands. I may as well but 4 new ones b/c I'm currently on Continentals and Michelins, mix&match combo from the previous owner. I'm stock SE and am in the Boston area (Quincy to be specific), ie - terrible roads. Need some good all seasons and am leaning towards the Dunlops b/c of what I've heard here on the org and the price is right.

Any suggestions, feedback, opinions would be most appreciated.

Oh yeah, the tire that blew is the same one that I hit the median with a few months ago when the cabbie cut me off, I figure something blew inside...or something related to that incident.

Thanks guys.

I have Sport A2's mounted on my stock 16" 5 spokes, awsome tire!!

I run Sumitomo HTR+ on my 17" wheels, there smooth, quiet, handle great and slice through water like butter. Lord knows we've had enough of it here in NJ.

Just baught a set of Bridgestone RE950's for Mom's 5th gen. 16" wheels on her GLE. They ride excellent and hold onto wet road very nicely as well. Very agressive tread on the tire, yet it's pretty quiet as well. Another awsome tire.

Yea, got the A2's on my stock rims. They're pretty good for an all season tire.

Dunlop Sport A2s

I got the A2s as well. Love em. Quiet on freeway and very good on wet roads. I dunno about tread life coz I just got em like 2K miles ago.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I brought the tire to my mechanic and he found 5 holes, all in a row in it, no idea what I ran over but the thing is shot. Gotta get 2 new ones at least. He reccommended Yokohama Avid V4s over the A2s, anyone heard of them? I don't recall reading about those on the org, just the A2s and others. I'm still leaning towards the A2s b/c of the great reviews here. If anyone's riding on the Avid V4s, let me know how they are. Later.

I rode on AVID V4s for about 15k. They grip like crazy. VERY sticky compound. Sidewall is a bit soft. Price is low. I'm running Dunlop SP5000s right now and I aint going back to the AVIDs.. =P For the price, good tire.

got the A2's

So I went with the Dunlop Sport A2's. Got them put on yesterday afternoon. Coulda saved a few bucks getting them from tirerack.com but I couldn't wait 3 days to get them. So far I'm very pleased with them. We'll see how they fare in the rain and such. Thanks for all the input guys.
