I'd say definitely go with 18's--in a way they're old news, because I've had them for about 14 months now, and I'm never the first to get anything. True, 18's are probably not optimum for performance unless you're gonna spend over $500 per rim, but you're hardly gonna notice any difference to the negative side either. But to the plus, my Sumitomo all-season 235/40WR-18's got me through 9" of snow on the road and also when we had the 25" storm. imho 19" is still overkill, don't waste money on them unless you're talking M3 or 745i in which case they look great.

it really depends on the wheel. Lots of people ask me if my are 19's. They look bigger in person. And usually chrome wheels look smaller for some reason. 19's do look good on 4th gens but they are more expensive.

Word. I can't help but think 18s don't look like 18s on 5th gens.

Actually, 85% of people who see my car for the first time ask if my wheels are 19s, when they are really 18s. I've even had some people ask me "How much did you pay for your 20s?"

It's always great to hear that..

to answer orginal question: yes. 4th gen body is fat but not as much as 5th. optical conclusion will appear larger. but who cares if you do the other things to make them sit mo' betta: like lowering the fu*king car and going lo-pro tyres. you know what to do. i know you will do the right thing.

the 5th gen body looks alot bigger than the 4th gen.
thats why the wheels look smaller on the 5th gen.

the 5th gens needs bigger wheels.
