Upgrading from 15" GLE rims to 17's. What's the correct tire size? *pics inside*

As the title says... some sites say
235/45-17 for 1995 Nissan Maxima GLE

whereas others quote

215/50-17
225/45-17
225/50-17

A diameter closest to stock is preferred. Any ideas?

Also references to good online tire sellers would be appreciated.

Thanks!

All depends on the width of the rim

I believe they are 7.0 inches wide. maybe someone who has these rims can confirm. The rims i have are off a 2000 I30.

The stock size on these i30 rims are 225/50 17.
Tire rack quotes my 95 Maxima GLE as 235/45 17.
Is there much difference between these two sizes?

It should or will be stamped on the inside of the wheel spoke.
