4th Gen Rims
4th Gen Rims
I was wondering if anyone has had any bent rims on a 4th Gen with 16 or 17 inches....seeing how i live in NY i have to be concerned about this....i am planning to buy a 4th gen at the end of the summer and i am just wondering....if so what tire tread should i get/ rim size
I also live in NY and I've had at least 16's at everyone of my cars. 16's would be fine. Even factory 5th gen 17's are very durable and if you bend them, you'll likely bend most aftermarket wheels.
I had 16s on my 3rd gen and I did manage to bend one of them very slightly but that impact was absolutely crazy and my lower control arm was bent as well, and the car was knocked out of alignment.
On my 4th gen, the stock 16s take lots of abuse, 15k+ of city driving and I only got a bubble in one tire but the rims are sound. I moved on to 18's and I'm keeping my fingers crossed. If something does happen, I"m getting stock 17s and I'm confident in those.
