215 45 zr 17 rides like a dump truck help.

i purchased from ebay a set of wheels with 215 45 zr17 nitto extreme performance tires. They were 400 bux and the tires are brand new they are already mounted and balanced. Aside from getting differ tires.(which i will eventually) what can i do to improve the ride?
whats a good tire pressure? For 400$ im happy just need some maxima enthusiast tweaking for now.

thanks !!!

What exactly is wrong with the ride? Is it too harsh or soft or noisy or....?

What tire pressure are you running now?

Also, are you comparing the ride you have now with the ride of stock 15" wheels? I take it you have a 3rd Gen from your name. Our cars come stock with poofy 205/65 15" tires - much softer riding than low profile 17" tires/wheels. You'll get a lot more impact harshness no matter what you do...

But enjoy your new shoes anyway.

I'm no expert, but 44 psi sounds pretty high! You could probably lower it quite a bit I think. Here's an interesting link (lots of other intersting reading there too) http://www.toyo.com.au/TTT123p1.htm Most info on pages 2 and 3. Deals mainly with load carrying capacity, but it might point you in the right direction.
