Michelin Pilot Sport A/S a good choice?

The new Volk's will be here soon. Have a chance to buy Michelin Pilot Sport A/S at a really good price. They have a treadwear rating of 400, but will it necessarily get 25,000 plus miles out of them with conservative driving and frequent rotations. I would hate to spend this much money and have them have as short a life as the Bridgestone S-03's that I have now. From your own experience, can anyone give me some insight as to the life of these tires?

Thanks, Mike

From one Mike to another Mike - the Pilot Sport A/S is one of the best tires you can get out there.

Read up on Tirerack's reviews and what everyone else on this board says about it. Chances are all you'll find are praises

I read a lot of the reviews on TireRack. The opinions vary a lot. On a lot of the later reviews, seems to be a lot of concern for the tires wearing abnormally fast in the center of tread compared to outside edges, some complain of lots of road noise, others of radial pull and vibration. Surprising, most of the complaints come from BMW and Maxima owners. Maybe I'll get the Conti ExtremeContacts I was originally looking at.

Uneven tire wear is more of a maintenance issue IMHO, overinflated or underinflated tires will cause these.

As for road noise, that's relative. So it's hard to judge.

Vibration? That would be improper wheel balancing.

Though given the choice and for the money - the Conti's are probably a better buy
