Someone explain why 235/50 will fit but 235/45 will not

I do not understand why it says in the FAQs that 235 / 50 will work and not the 45's. It is just a sidewall height is it not? The 45s would be slightly smaller so why is it that they would not fit??!?!?!

IIRC they should fit, speedo error might be a concern though but I'm not too sure on that. Try the search

Sidewall flexion was the issue, but plenty of people are running them with no issues.

It is not recommended by the Tire and Wheel Association, but it can be done.

If you decide to do it, make sure that you keep the tires properly inflated.
