245/45-18 on 2000 maxima

I've "inherited" a set of 2004 max SE 18 inch wheels with the standard equipment Goodyears (245/45-18) on them. Does anyone foresee any problems with putting them on my 2000? I know the speedo will be off by about 3 mph at 60 mph, but I can't think of any other potential probs other than maybe rubbing?? any thoughts?

thanks in advance!

I'm currently running that same size and same offset along with H&R springs; no problem whatsoever

Those are fine. Just wear them out and get some tires in correct size later down the road.

correct size??? define "correct size" for me homie....245/45/18 is PERFECTLY fine and actually good for a 5th gen maxima

I run 245/45/17's on my 2003.

245/40/18 is the more COMMON size for 5th gens but 245/45/18 offers more sidewall, a bit higher stance and the only forseable problem would be the availability of tires in that size and of course cost

Thanks everyone! Guess I'll stick with the 245/45s for now. I was initially worried that if I put the reccomended 235/40-18s on the rims, they would be too low profile for my taste. Plus, I tote clients around in this car, so it needs to remain somewhat conservative in appearance.

That's true about the availability and price of the 245/45-18. Yikes! And to boot, most tire manufacturers require at least an 8 inch rim to mount a 245/45 18. But the '04 max rims are only 7.5 inch. Go figure.

Again, thanks for the help.
