Dunlop Sports A2 tires comments needed....

I'm planning to replace my tires before winter.
Has anyone have experience with dunlop sports a2 yet?
Please share your thoughts.

I drive 80miles a day and I need all season.
So long tread life, reasonable performance for dry,
good traction for rain+snow, and low cost are what
i'm interested. and how do they compare to the old
dunlop d60a2? $67 balanced and mounted is what
i've found so far for 215/60HR15.

OK....to make it simple....dunlop sport A2 is the best tire that ever happened to my car in its price range...GREAT snow traction, as well as cornering/noise/comfort (dry or wet)...the only downfall (of course there has to be one) is that the tire wears a little quick, i think I got between 35-40 thousand out of my last pair, which is 1 year for me ;-)

Very smooth and quiet tire. They do OK in snow, there very good in the rain. Handling is excellent.

Been driving on these tires for 2 weeks now. I like they wa they perform, but I don't have a good basis for comparison with respect to my old Continental CH95s since I am now on a different size. I went from 215/55s to 225/55. There's a definite negative effect on cornering with the taller sidewalls.

So far so good. About 2k miles. No noticeable wear(thank God). Great wet traction. Dry traction is ok. I was expecting more from AA rated but still pretty good. I had mine installed by Sears (price matched Tire Rack) and they left the pressure at 15 pounds on every tire. Didn't look bad, stiff sidewall I guess, but they squeeled like a pig. Brought it upto 35 and much better. Good combination of feel /stiffness and comfort/noise. I like my previous Bridgestones more though even thought they cost about $25 a tire more.

I have them on my parents 98 in 215/55/16
they have about 10k miles on them still show very little wear. They ride amazingly smooth and quiet. They perform very well in the dry or wet.. not much experience with snow.. but overall a great tire.

i know deezo had one blow out on him though and some people complained about shor tread life but it all depends on your driving style.

i have a question....i got my dunlop sport a2's at ntb around my house few days ago. it was 113 a piece and i told them about the prices i saw on tirerack.com (88 on tirerack.com). so they matched the price but they added 15 bucks to per tires saying that it is their store policy to charge for shipping or something..103 per tire. so basically i only got 20 bucks off for 2 tires...did this happen to anyone?

you could of got those tires at Mavis for 79 each..they gave me a quote 357 total including tax....
I didn't go with the Dunlop's though, instead went for the "new Goodyear GT HR"....they look awesome, I hope they are as good as they look....Only time will tell.

My dad worked for Dunlop for 30 years and says thae rubber compound in the A2 isn't very good(especially since Goodyear took over). Any time he got a 60 series he bought a GT Qualifier or s D65T Touring. He said the A2 is the one tire they had the most problems out of. My brother put a set on his Max(he's cheap and my dad gets a discount) and about a month later one blew out. It looked like it got hot and just exploded. My dad took it to the plant for a tech to look at it and he couldn't figure out what happened to it. My dad buys Michelins now and highly reccomends them to all of his friends.

i have a2's, loved them when i bought them, although this is only my 3rd set of tires so i dont have a lot 2 compare w/....wear is a bit of a factor 2, noticed about 7-8k later they didnt hold as well, but by far the best tire i have owned (rain traction was friggin awesome, i couldnt hydroplane if i tried when they were new)
