Enkei, Nakayama, or Konig (Quality/Value)?

I am looking at getting "summer" rims. I currently have Konig Verdicts as my winter rims with Pilot A/S tires (225/17)

I am looking for new rims to put a cheaper rubber on for the summer and upsize a tad.

I am looking at rims from these manufacturers:
Konig, Enkei, Nakayama.

Since rim selection is a personal preference, I am leaving out the models. I am more interested in the quality of the manufacturers. Any one of those three NOT worth while or anyone one REALLY good? I do understand that these are not of the quality of SSR, but I dont have that kind of cabbage just for rims.

Also, for a 5th Gen max, I am looking at getting a 18 X 7.5 or 18 X 8, putting a 235/40/18 tire on it. But what should the bolt pattern be? 5 X 100? 5 X 112?

Thanks for information that you can provide.

Bolt pattern and offset are here:

And speaking of SSR, their rims aren't that strong, I've seen quite a few bent SSR Type-Cs and my brother bent a side of his 17" SSR Integrals. Out of those companies, I'd probably go with Enkei. I've heard many stories of bent and warped Konig Tantrums. And I can't even find a Nakayama's homepage online at all. Speaking of which, most of their rims look like cheap knockoffs of other brands.

Also, if you're getting 235 width, you will probably need an 8" wide rim, some tires might not fit on anything smaller.

Take a look around at that earlier link I sent for more manufacturers and sellers of rims, you might just find something else you like.

Bolt pattern is 5/114.3

Konigs are decent quality rims. Not sure about Nakayama.

If I had to pick one brand, I would go w/ Enkei. I had them on my other car for few years. Used to nail pot holes left and right w/ low profile tires. I had to replace few tires but never had issues w/ rims. They are tough!

Here's another vote for Enkei's. I got mine from Tan and between the two of us, we've logged so many miles on this thing on Houston potholes it's not even funny - and we both run 225/40/18's.

It's scratched, chipped, nicked and whatnot but it's still structurally sound.

Well, I cashed out my rim money for the BBK. And once I verify that my "winter" (17" Konig Verdicts) rims clear it, I will be getting 18" summer rims which I HOPE will not be an issue (clearance issues) being 18"...But I have to make sure at 5.5" from the center of hub that there is 2.385" of clearance by the spokes. Minimum.

So, the rims are on hold for a couple months...but hey...summer is more than a couple months away . At least Enkei got the thumbs up! BTW, I was looking at the MM2's or RPM2's.

Enkei CP1's clear BBK fine

And I don't get what this talk about putting 235 tires on an 8 inch rim...225's are fine...Hell, look at the NISMO 350z's, they run 245's on a 9.5 inch rim and they fit just fine

I'll be running 8.5 inch wheels on the front of my 240sx with 225 tires and they will work just fine, too

You pay for what you get. My Enkei's cost me $4500 w/tires. You pay for what you get. The Konigs are affordable because they are cheaply made. And plus don't all Maxima's on the board have Konigs, Mille Miglia's, Lowenhart knockoffs, or Volks. Be different. All these cars look the same. Spend the cash!! You'll have more pride in your car. People notice the effort you put in your car. Don't spoil it by buying cheap stuff or wheels that everyone has.

Enkei's are by far one of the best cast if not the best cast wheel on the market. Why do you think Toyota/Lexus choose these as their #1 choice for the oem wheels they use?

I have had a set of 17" x 8" RPO1's, that mind you weigh only 16.7 lbs. For over 3 years, 75k miles on 2 different cars. I have never had any wheel bend or had any balancing issues and the runout (perfect circle) of their wheels are second to none. These are extremely strong wheels due to there extra inner rim material where the spokes come in contact with the outer lip and very well priced also. I would probably get the newer RP02 with their hollow spoke design or the newest RSV design.

Enkei wheels are strong, pretty light, and quite unique. Unlike most other wheel companies that copy the designs of the more expensive "tuner" wheels enkeis are generally proprietry designs which you won't see knockoffs of.
