Refurbing GXE alloys..

OK, I know most people would say why bother, but humor me here... I have a 90 GXE that I inherited from my family. The stock alloys have long since lost all the clearcoat and have some brake dust pitting on them. I'd like to get them looking better, but I need some advice. Can I get rid of the pitting and then just clean them up and re-clear coat them?

Buy some used 4th gen 5 spokes... you can probably get them cheap from another member and they look perfect on the 3rd gen.

Sure, you can repaint them. I'm not too sure about this method, but I believe you can use aircraft stripper on the finish and start from bare metal (prime, paint, clear). Alternatively you could just sand and repaint them without stripping it.

At least you don't have SE wheels that need refinishing.
