what tire pressure should i use with these tires on my 97i30t, the rims are konig 17X7.. the tire installer put in 42psi,, isnt that too high???

 

no one know because you running a wider tire than your rims, because of the wear factor. too the much air the middle wear out faster. too little air the side will wear out.

 

any happy middle experience.....im just gonna go with 38 for now....anyone with this combo and experience, let me know please... thanks

 

Yes, I would think that is too high. My 01 states 32 PSI for the stock 225 50's. I have Nitto Exteme 555's 245/45 on my stock rims and I have been running 31 PSI to make them wear more evenly. 6000 miles so far and no wear problems. I would bet your car rides rough with 38 PSI.
