Widest tire size to fit on 95 GLE Stockers?

What's the widest that i can go on my stock GLE rims. It's a '95 and they are the "Honeycomb" rims. I don't want to get rims yet because there are more important things to upgrade! I want some go, not so much show. (Rice Killer)

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

The stock honeycomb rims are 6.5" wide so the largest tire is a 225/60/15

um, no. The stock tires are 205/60/15, so replacements would be 215/55/15 or 225/50/15 to keep you speedo as accurate as possible.

stock tire is 205/60/15, just go here http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html to see which would change the speed ratio the least. I was wrong though, 225/55/15 seems to be the closest match.

The 1995/96 stock GLE tire is a 205/65/15 not a 205/60/15. The Stock SE tire is 215/60/15

Specs can be found at http://www.geocities.com/jgadlage/maxspecs.html

Also I have a 95 GLE and the stock tire is 205/65/15
