17" x 7" Rims - Out of wheel wheel? Flush?

I am just wondering if I picked up some 17" x 7" rims with P215/40R17 tires how they will look from the side view of a 1998 maxima. Would they be flush with the body? indented or out alittle?

From most pictures they seem flush...but just checking.

It will depend on the offset you'll get. I'd get 17 x 8.

215 40 17? That's a Civic tire size. They will look crappy, especially with no drop. they will exaggerate your wheel gap, as well as look sucked in.

Which Honda does that come on? I know of 225/50, but not a 40.

Sorry, I probably should have clarified......

215 40 17 is the tire size that you put on Honda Civics with 17" aftermarket wheels. Basically, all the cheap wheel packages you find ANYWHERE have 215 40 17s because they are for Civics.

40 is way too short of a profile on our cars and 17" wheels.

17s should be 45, 50 tops..
18s should be 40, 45 tops..

go with 215/50/17, 225/50/17 or 235/45/17.. those will all work fine..
