Got new rims, need lug nuts. Best kind?
I just bought some new rims, and I need to get some chrome lug nuts. What are the best kind to get? I have heard that gorilla brand is good, but I want to hear it directly from you guys first before I buy. My friend got some red ones for his civic si from autozone and the first time he got his tires rotated, they were rusted on. I want to avoid this hassle.
Thanks
Thanks

Not sure how much the gorilla ones are but I paid around $80 shipped for McGards w/ locks from Summit Racing

I recommend McGard spline drive wheel lug nuts and locks from here:

I went with the McGards from Summit Racing.
1) $92 shipped vs PDM's lower price but no locking lugs (Summit Racing requires 2 keys; PDM 1)
2) McGard rep claimed a tougher finish; Gorilla wouldn't comment
3) 2 keys from McGard set
If I could do it over again, I might look into getting 5 sets of locking lugs from McGard. However, with cost factored in, it'll be like $120+
Stuff to stay away from: there's a guy selling lotsa "spline" lugs on ebay. HOwever, his chip from what I've read.
Another issue are the kyokogen 7sided lugs. Simply put, the more sides you have, the closer you have to a circular shape, from which you won't get much grip from when torquing. Also, their keys are made weak so the key breaks when overtorqued... this can be a good thing, like when u use a torque gun @ some shops
Another cool thing to consider: tilt sensor for your alarm. Or super sensitive shock sensor.
