Nitto or Falkens for '02 Max 6-speed?

Has anyone replaced tires on their Max to any one of these?

Falken Ziex ZE-512
All-season performance. V-speed rated. Rated #1 by a leading consumer magazine.
225/50R-17 94V B

-Or-

Nitto NT-450 Extreme Performance
Ultra high performance all-season tire
225/50R-17 94V B

The Michelin Pilots must be made out of GOLD. Almost $200 (over on some web sites)per tire for those, the aforementioned are just a hair over $100 each.

I would like to hear from people who have experience with any of the three listed above. likes, dislikes, etc...

Thanks

I ordered a set of 4 Falken 512's a few weeks back from www.edgeracing.com. One set showed up on time, but UPS lost the other set. Edge shipped out a replacement set today (Tuesday) so hopefully I'll have them on by the end of next week. Consumer Reports rated the 512 very well, so that was my deciding factor for choosing them.

have falkens 512 for over 350 miles now and i'm really happy with them , my previous tires - Kumho hp716 were the worst tires money can buy
loose steering , sloopy handling and only lasted 20k

one thing about Falkens - it looks like they need to be balanced using " Road force " balancer
otherwise there might be some problems with vibration.

Nick.

Thanks for the heads up...not familiar with "Road Force" balancing. Is this for tires with an iregualr shape or poorer quality? Do all shops have this ability, I live in a rural area. Not too many hi-tech places around me.

Thanks again.

Nitto NT-450s are not all season tires. I had them for few years and they are horrible in winter.

Falken 512

I just had Falken 512's installed at Discount Tire today and I feel that they are a fantastic value. $147 each includes install, tax, warranty. I have driven them all around in the rain today and they performed flawlessly. Everything I heard about the Falken's performance is true. They are quieter than stock, resist hydroplane, and stick to the road in the twisties. Also, they are very comfortable. I don't have a vibration problem with mine. I am using 225/50/17.
